Pause…Just Pause

14 Comments/ 42/ 0

I saw a tweet this morning that made me pause.

It wasn’t a negative tweet. It wasn’t one that upset me or even one that I could quote.

But the title of it was “Please pause for a minute”.

So I did.

And when I paused I realized the beauty in the pause.

We certainly need to pause more often. At least I do.

When we pause we are able to slow down and perhaps listen to someone else.

Or maybe we are able to observe something that we would have missed.

I don’t pause often enough.

It’s a good thing to pause.

A pause allows me to center myself and focus on something that may have slipped by without me noticing it.

A pause allows me to step back for just a second and reevaluate what I should say next.

A pause allows me to think before acting.

A pause allows me to encourage someone else.

A pause is just that — a pause.

A pause is a good thing.

Today I plan to take a pause. Several times. To enjoy what is around me. To think before I speak. To observe.

Join me?

Yes! I have been using Apple Fitness+ for exercise and they recently added meditation so I have been pausing several times a day to meditate. I “set my intention” with a Christian focus and truly appreciate the pause. Happy Monday!

I really need to up my game with my Apple Watch. I don’t use half of the stuff that I could be using it for. Thanks for the suggestion.

Pauses can only lead to positive results, especially the think before you speak. Or write. Thanks for the reminder.

Sometimes it is a very good thing to think before I speak or write. That’s why I don’t always send emails right away if there is a situation that needs to be dealt with. I let them sit overnight and see how it sounds in the morning.

Well I know that I need to be reminded often to take a pause and just be in the moment. Thanks for popping over.
