Rocky the Raccoon Strikes Again

10 Comments/ 199/ 0

Last summer I mistakenly left some fresh corn in a cooler on the side porch overnight. I thought it was a good idea since I did not have room in the refrigerator for the dozen ears. It was a big mistake because I came out the next morning to a side porch covered in a ripped up cooler and the remains of all of the corn on the deck. What a mess. Our friendly raccoon had quite a feast and maybe invited some friends over to have a midnight snack.

This weekend when I was driving down the driveway and headed into the garage I saw something under the front deck. It was not there before and I could not really tell what it was . So after I parked in the garage I got on the ground and fished it out.

.

That, my friends, is the remains of a Christmas present Micah sent us. Date on the box is December 20th. Micah had sent us several things and when he asked if we had gotten the Godiva chocolate I had to tell him no. Don’t worry – he had it redelivered and it was yummy but the mystery of the missing box remained until 3 1/2 months later when somehow the box appeared within sight distance . Ripped apart with no sign of the chocolates. Once again, I blame Rocky the Raccoon.

So I have learned that nothing is safe here in the woods from Rocky. If you send me food, please make sure it is delivered during the day when I am home or before Rocky helps himself. I don’t trust him one bit.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
