Paris is an amazing city and since my theme the next week or so is Travel From Your Couch I thought it only appropriate to feature a teapot today that came from my travels to Paris. We spent 5 days in the wonderful city after our eldest son’s wedding in Croatia and it was the perfect place to decompress.
Of course my eyes were always on the lookout for a teapot. How could they not be? I had one carry on that had been designated for wedding stuff that had either been left behind or shifted to a checked bag on the return trip home so I had plenty of room.
On our last day we went shopping and bought all of the fun souvenirs that we had spotted earlier in the week. But surprise of all surprises I spotted a teapot and with my addiction to macaroons (which also made an appearance in our luggage on the trip home) it was THE perfect teapot to buy to remind me of our trip to Paris.
Just look at the adorable macaroon on the spout of this little one cupper.
I think you have to agree that this is possibly the most perfect little teapot for me to bring home from Paris. And what about those macaroons? Yum.
“When all is complete deep in the teapot, when tea, mint, and sugar have completely diffused throughout the water, coloring and saturating it…then a glass will be filled and poured back into the mixture, blending it further. The comes waiting. Motionless waiting. Finally, from high up, like some green cataract whose sight and sound mesmerize, the tea will once again cascade into a glass. Now it can be drunk, dreamily, forehead bowed, fingers held wide away from the scalding glass.” ~ Simonne Jacquemard
