Things I Am Loving Now

11 Comments/ 114/ 0

Every once in awhile I like to share some things that I am currently loving. Today is your lucky day if you want an inside track to some of those things that are in my life that I am happy to share with you.

First up – several weeks ago I shared my hack for making a nice Brie Prosciutto Tortilla sandwich. I decided to try to make a sweet version the other day and came up with a Nutella and Banana dream.

Fold it up, grill it in a little skillet with a tiny bit of olive oil and it all turns into a melty gooey and tasty creation.

Another totally unrelated item is this new Lash Princess mascara I have found. I have not been wearing a lot of make up during the pandemic since I am not going out many places but I am a huge fan of this inexpensive mascara. It works like a dream and the price tag is a mere $4.99. That’s a steal for the quality. You can order from Amazon here.

Living in a smaller town (or outside of one) means not as much access to convenient things at times. We have not been able to get curbside delivery of groceries through Instacart without going to either Hendersonville or Asheville which entails a bit of a drive. I have used Sam’s Club curbside service quite a bit but recently our Brevard Food Lion jumped on board and now has Instacart. I LOVE IT. The time slots are fairly limited but I can usually get a time that works and it is super easy to shop on the app and then park in the Food Lion Go spot to have a team member bring my order out and put in the back of my car. I wish every store had this option. I never shopped at Food Lion much before but after this is over I am a loyal customer because they provided this during a time when we wanted to limit contact with others. Oh, and Maksim loves the bags.

Sometimes I like to share pictures with quotes or text on them. I have found Word Swag to be an amazing app on my phone that allows me to do that effortlessly. This app allows me to use my own pictures or ones on the app, create text or use text that is provided, and create really nice graphics. It’s easy and simple and there are so many options. Check out their website by clicking here.

That banana and Nutella tortilla sandwich looks so good. I have not been wearing much makeup either, except for Zoom meetings. I´ve even started wearing my good tops and jewelry around the house. They are just going to waste! I am loving Zoom, Messenger and Google Meet as I can connect with family, friends and schools.

I’ll have to give that mascara a try! We do most of our grocery shopping at Food Lion: it’s one of only two supermarkets in our small town, Kroger being the other. Stay safe in this weather.

Good morning Beth! I’m in Columbia SC this morning. We left a day early to head to Florida- to avoid the weather. I waved at you when I saw an exit for Asheville. Love your ideas- and I think Word Swag sounds great. Although I can see myself spending hours playing with it!

The tortilla looks interesting! It reminds me of something that we call Durango: sour cream mixed with Mexican cheese (or whatever cheese is available) and folded into a tortilla, baked and flipped occasionally to your desired level of “done-ness.” Cut into slices and enjoy with your favorite salsa, and you have a great snack!

The tortilla ideal looks so good!! I wear very little if any makeup anymore. I gave that up mostly when I retired in 2013. We have been shopping at Food Lion for many years now. We try others when they pop up but always end up back at Food Lion. Praying for safe travels on your trip. Enjoy the time with Theo and family.

I love using Instacart and we are so lucky to have many store options available. I also will attempt that Nutella and banana tortilla. So yummy. Thinking of throwing in some marshmallows maybe. 🙂

I used Kroger pickup option just after we were sick, just to make sure I wasn’t infecting anyone. But I missed being able to pick out my own produce. Other than that it was very convenient!
