Waterfall Wednesday – Connestee Falls

6 Comments/ 678/ 0

It’s been awhile since I have done a Waterfall Wednesday post and today is a repeat of one of my favorite waterfalls. We FINALLY hiked some of the trails within our little community of Connestee Falls and this time instead of viewing the waterfall from the viewing platform like we did here a million times we hiked to see it from a different angle. I don’t what took us so long. There are some really wonderful trails here and we have some truly dedicated people who keep the trails cleared and taken care of. Our new mission is to hike as many as we can. Connestee Falls is located close to Brevard, North Carolina and has so much to offer.

Today’s post will be light on text but full of pictures as you join me on our hike. How wonderful to be able to live in a place where this beauty exists.

There are lots of great little signs along the trails identifying various plants which I love.

Our rhododendron are really beautiful now and there are so many on the trails that are in various stages.

Finally we got to the viewing platform on the hiking trail to see where Batson Creek Falls and Connestee Falls can be viewed. It is amazing there to be able to see it from a closer angle.

If you look at the top of the picture you can see the viewing area that we take guests to often.

A grist mill used to be at the top of the falls as shown in this old photograph.

Two happy hikers.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday, readers. Hope your Wednesday is filled with much happiness. Don’t forget to leave me a comment and Comment for a Cause for Fill the Bus – Back to School Clothing for our Transylvania kids. Below is some pretty cool footage someone did by drone of the area where we were hiking.

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
