Winter Lights – The North Carolina Arboretum

8 Comments/ 54/ 0

Nothing gets me in the holiday spirit like seeing outdoor light displays. On Thanksgiving weekend we took Aaron and Erin to see the Winter Light Display at The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville and it was the perfect kick off to the holiday season.

Tickets may be purchased prior to the event and many nights are sold out. The event runs from November 22, 2019 – January 4, 2020 each night from 6 -10 p.m. nightly. General Admission: $12-18, Discounted tickets: $8-15, Flex Tickets $19-25 More information may be obtained by visiting their website here.

Here are some pictures of what you will see if you visit. It is so much fun and so worth the trip.

The quilt garden was one of my favorite things of all.
Beautiful and constantly changing colors.
The massive Christmas tree was another wonderful show with
lights that changed colors and a perfect picture spot.
Did I mention the S’more area? $5 bought a little baggie with
enough materials to make two yummy S’mores. Perfect way to
end our visit.

A really wonderful place anytime of year but especially beautiful with all of the lights that are on display now. This is the largest fundraising event for the Arboretum and it is a wonderful place that we like to support. If you live locally you still have plenty of time to take in the lights. Check out their website here for more information.

Do you put up an outside light display? I would love to hear all about your traditions so leave me a comment and remember that all comments this month go to support our Comments for a Cause – The Haven.

Wow! What a fabulous display. Paul has done a great job of decorating our palm tree and has lights shining on the Cyprus trees. Ours is the only place with lights in our community. A habit we brought with us from North America.

We went on November 22nd. Everything was beautiful. We enjoyed dinner in the cafe there with someone playing classical guitar music.

These are amazing! Well worth the trip and price! We have a place down near Detroit that has a drive-thru light show..and then a town a few towns over where the downtown is covered in lights. Both are fun, but neither is as creative as the lights you’ve shown!

The lights are stunning. But I especially like the ‘smore idea.

A great way to start Christmas and to get in the spirit. Here in VA Beach we have a display at the ocean front on the boardwalk. Norfolk a city next to us they have the lovely Botanical Gardens..

Nice! We just took our oldest grandchild to see a huge outdoor light display set to music near us. She was so excited! I’ve always enjoyed seeing Christmas lights on everyone’s home since the time I was a little kid. We used to just drive around looking at them all. My hubby is our outside light decorator at our house and he does a great job.
