We needed our rural fire dept. about three years ago. They had no trouble finding us. Our west field was on fire. SomeBODY and that would not be me, decided to burn it off and things got a little out of control. I hope our house never catches fire cause it would be gone. No hydrants out here and all we could do is suck the neighbor’s pond dry. Happy you have had no real emergencies and hope that continues. Whew, for Wordless Wednesday I got some Wordy going on!
I don’t know. Maybe this is a ban on shady businesses, you know those guys who zip in and out of town and want to pave your driveway, or encyclopedia salesman…
we have ones up here that say “through traffic only” or “residential traffic only” but not like this.
the entrance to hubby’s police parking lot is similar — a bit different wording – but the same basic message I think. and you cannot enter without a pass key to raise the gate.

We are all a bit fuzzy on this one.
Hmmmmm I think a lot of Americans have the same issue! Good one, Beth Ann. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
Hugs from Ecuador,

You might be correct!!!
My guess is it is located outside a governmental office … that is why not much gets done. 😉
You win the prize—kind of—outside the police station. 🙂
LOL!!
It means that you only have to STOP if you are on OFFICIAL BUSINESS?????????????? Lots of stopping goes on there!!!
Good Morning Beth Ann!
Good morning!!! I honestly can’t figure out what it means. I seriously need to know. My life might depend upon it….
Well Beth Ann you need to call the Powers that Be. Maybe you even know them. I am assuming this is home.. ?
I try to keep a low profile…….the one time we had to call the police they drove past our house 3 times before stopping. Seriously. I do not lie.
I believe you. Seriously.
It was kind of funny. But makes me happy that we have never had a real emergency and needed them pronto!

Good guess. I honestly am baffled.
I suppose if we stop all official business, we could get more fun stuff done!
YES!
I believe it to be a worthwhile political commentary.. It could also read “monkey business”, and would still be a fitting message.
I can always count on you for a giggle, can’t I???? Thanks!
I do what I can..lol
You got me stumped!

Maybe they mean no parking since it’s outside police station. If it does then there should be “no parking”. I’ve always wondered that too!
Well if you figure it out please let me know!!! I don’t get it. I have even googled it and gotten nowhere! Maybe I should ask a city official????? 🙂
Ummmm…
Guess it depends on the definition of official business. Do bathroom breaks count?
Haha!!! I would hope you would not take a bathroom break by the sign but maybe Miles would!
