I love the word “read” also. And I love what some creative artist did with that old. book. I’ve seen similar creations. This past weekend I suggested to an artist friend that she pick up some “material” at a local used book sale to use in her planned collages. Me? I brought home an entire bag to books for myself, my mom, the Little Free Library in my hometown and for a young girl I am mentoring in poetry.

I wasn’t originally planning to purchase this many books. But they had a “bag sale” and I had to fill the bag.

I don’t know! I should have asked my mom some questions about it—I imagine she will read this later today and let me know about it!

i did not know you took the picture but I recognized it right away. It was made by my friend, Paulette who is such a great artist and makes all kinds of artistic articles. She is the one that taught me how to do “Irish” folding and now I am addicted to it.

OH okay!!! I did not make the connection that she was the one who taught you the Iris folding technique. I thought it was pretty neat!

This reminds me of a project we made out of my granddad’s Reader’s Digests. They weren’t nearly as elaborate, all pages folded the same way, the covers glued together to form a circle, then they were spray painted gold and hung. Someone put a lot of effort into this.
