A fellow I know who lived in Costa Rica for a while used to say he was going to “visitar las ranas” (visit the frogs) when he went to the bathroom because they lived in and around the vault toilets there.
That is awesome!!! Yea, it was one of my least favorite things about life there but I adapted. But let me tell you—I use the facilities much more freely back in the US and don’t even think about checking for creatures!!!
Ok, on one hand that is an adorable tree frog, on the other, I sure wouldn’t want him looking up at me when I lifted the lid! Not sure I could get used to that either. Have a great weekend Beth Ann!! 🙂
They are pretty adorable. This one was smaller than the one that was in the other toilet….I learned to live with it but I sure thought a lot more about using the loo than I do in the US! 🙂 Have a great weekend, too!

Seems I have seen that picture before!
I don’t think I’d like anything looking back at me, thank you. He’s awfully cute, though.
oh that is hilarious! we used to get water snakes in the toilets at this old office building I worked at, that was on the waterfront. creepy!
Ugh–water snakes would totally creep me out. I don’t think I would handle that very well at all…
I still want one
Haha–in your toilet or elsewhere?
I think I missed it. Was this in your toilet in Australia?
Yes—it was. We had a couple of resident frogs in the potties. Not my favorite thing.
