A Few of My Favorite Apps

10 Comments/ 433/ 1

I love my iPhone and I love all of the great apps that I can have on it.  I always like to find out what apps other people use on their phones to make their life easier or maybe just more fun.

So today here are a few that I love.  Some are just plain for fun.  You can read about some of my other favorite ones here.

 Morning Man.

Chris may get a wee bit jealous when my Australian Morning Man wakes me up by saying phrases like “I was dreaming of you last night.” and “Can I make you some tea, love?” but I love the way he wakes me up.  You can choose a variety of Morning Man voices including French, British, Spanish, Scottish and more but the Australian Morning Man gets my vote for best way to wake up.  Ever.  Well, other than my husband’s voice.

Ink Cards

Ink Cards is an amazing app that allows you to use pictures you have taken to use on cards and postcards.  Click on any type of category, select your picture from your camera roll, write a personalized message, add an address and click on mail and they do all the work.  I send postcards to my brother in law Carlton and my great niece Harper all of the time and this eliminates the need to always have postcard stamps on hand.  Just select a picture that you have taken on vacation and it becomes a beautiful card.   I have seen the finished product and they are gorgeous.  Prices vary for what you are sending and Postacard is another option in their photography card family.  I personally like the larger Ink Card style but the Postacard app is what I originally started out with.

Mag Light+

PicMonkey Image-7

As a 50 + woman I always seem to need to have the print a little larger and the light a little bit brighter.  The MagLight+ app does just that.  With a simple click your phone becomes both a magnifier and a light and reading those small print menus in that romantically dark corner of the restaurant is much easier.  Perfect app for aging eyes or anyone who needs the print a little larger and the light a little brighter.

WhatsAppIMG_0894

WhatsApp is a great text messaging type system that works all over the world. WhatsApp uses your phone’s Internet connection to send messages so you can avoid SMS fees. You can create groups for family or group messaging and the messaging system is secure and safe.  This is a great way to keep in touch when someone is traveling abroad.

What Dog (Fetch)IMG_0899

Seriously, who doesn’t want to see what kind of dog they are? According to this I am an Irish Water Spaniel who has a robust work ethic, is intelligent and active.  Well, 2 out of 3 isn’t bad, right?  Just for fun this app makes me laugh. It also has lots of information about dog breeds as well as fun pictures of dogs.

BitmojiIMG_0901

Don’t you love my Bitmoji?  It was before the last too short haircut but it still pretty much looks like me.  Bitmoji is just a fun way to express yourself in your own form.  You create your image and add different clothes, jewelry, etc. to keep it personalized.  I use it all the time in text messages as there is a huge variety of ways to elaborate on the single image.  You can add words and emotions by simply searching.  Perfect way to add a bit of yourself in your message.  Thanks to Miss Erin for working to create my personalized Bitmoji.

What are some of your favorite apps on your phone?  I would love to hear which ones you can’t live without on your phone.  Let me know in the comments and remember that all comments go to help support the mission trip to Honduras for Teresa and Dennis Gray.  You can read about that here.
