A Quick Peek at Greenville Spartanburg International Airport

8 Comments/ 30/ 0

Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (GSP)  has become an easy way for us to get to the places we need to go.  A quick trip down the mountain and we are there.  At is a bit father than going to the Asheville airport but we can often get a direct flight to our destination instead of enduring a layover and inevitable delay in Atlanta.

We traveled from GSP recently to go to New York City and it was a nice way to go.  I discovered that they have a pretty sweet little area outside that travelers can hang out in while they wait for their flight.  The day we traveled Chris was on phone calls and I didn’t want to listen in so I walked around the garden and snapped a  few shots.

This statue greets visitors as they exit the building into the garden.  It was my favorite in the gardens by far.

I suspect there were a few too many chemicals added sometime because it looks as if this little gal is stepping into a bubble bath.

A lot of airports we visit have lovely art exhibits inside for travelers to explore but this is probably the first one I have visited that had an outdoor space with art.  Kudos to GSP for their lovely gardens that offer some respite to wear travelers.

Have you visited GSP ?  Have you seen any other outdoor spaces at airports?  I would love to hear about it so leave me a comment.  All comments this month go to support our Comments for a Cause – UMCOR Hurricane Florence Recovery.

How wonderful. I often wish I could go outside when I’m waiting at an airport on a nice sunny day. Often these smaller airports are more people friendly.

Huh, never heard of that airport before… Whatever it takes to get a direct flight, it’s worth it.

What a nice airport. Having a outside area to visit is a nice ideal.

That is quite the bubbly pool! I’ve never seen an airport with an outdoors type of resting place-very cool.

I avoid airports, but I like the Black-Eyed Susans 🙂

So pretty. I don’t think I’ve seen an area like this at another airport. In Germany there are a few with indoor play areas for kids which I think is a great idea as well.
