Advent Week Two – Love in a Baby

7 Comments/ 95/ 1

A baby can change everything, can’t it? In the case of the Christian world a baby came into the world and definitely changed the world because of his birth, his life and his death.  It is something that I as a Christian cling to and hold fast to especially in this time of Advent.

One of the virtues that Christ brings us is the virtue of love.  Love changes everything..

While some denominations have a slightly different order to the candles that they light each week during Advent this week I am using the order that shares the second week of Advent as focusing on love. It is also sometimes referred to as the “Bethlehem Candle” as a reminder of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.

Because of that one baby and because of that one night we can know the most perfect love ever.

This week as I see the lit candle of Love I am going to focus on sharing love in my words and my deeds.  I am going to strive to eliminate negative words from my vocabulary and focus on the vastness of love in my life.

God has truly blessed me with love in very tangible and meaningful ways and I suspect He has done the same for you.  I would love to hear what your thoughts are today so please feel free to comment.

Babies certainly embody the word love. My baby just took his first eight steps in a row yesterday, which likely moves him out of the baby category to toddler. I am so blessed to live in God’s love and to experience his love through my grandchildren.

The greatest of these are Love. Amen, we are so blessed with our Lord’s love we must past it on. What better way to love than a baby.

Beautiful. Imagine if everyone embraced love into his/her life as you suggest. I’m a bit behind in reading blog posts, but thank you for your encouraging words today. ♥
