Baby Carrots are My New Best Friend

2 Comments/ 1285/ 0

Yes…it is true.  I have a new love in my life.  Baby carrots.  Not because I WANT to have a new love but because I need to have a new love.   You see—we bought some scales yesterday…….and that should be explanation enough.   Sigh.   I have been in denial.  I could blame weight gain on a great number of things and I do.  But that doesn’t make it not something I need to deal with.  So Chris and I have made a pact and Team Chiles needs to shed some pounds.  It is going to take a year probably to get where we need to be but we can do it.

I must admit I did have kind of a melt down when I stepped on the scales and saw that I was heavier than I was when I was pregnant…..but hey—at least it is something that can be changed.   My sister has had great success with Weight Watchers and recommends that.  We may consider that at some point but for today —limit portion sizes, cut out white rice, pasta and bread, cut out sugar (and it is in EVERYTHING!) and exercise more.   Sounds doable to me!!!  So keep us in your prayers and here’s to better health!

P.S.   The massive blog move has been rescinded.  After Aaron had it up and running I was not thrilled with it so I am back to the old one and I think I will be less of a headache to him and can maintain everything the way I want to.  So if you didn’t see any posts in the last week or so you didn’t miss anything!!   Happy to be back spreading my love in the blogosphere!

Glad you’re back Beth Ann. Good luck with the weight loss. I know how tough it is. One meal at a time! Hugs, Diane

Thanks, Diane!!! Never thought I would have to worry about losing weight but I think it is inevitable and definitely something we both need to do and hopefully together it will be easier!!! You are right—one meal at a time. The good thing is that we like veggies and chicken and lean stuff and I think just cutting out sugar or really watching what we eat will not be that difficult. The difficult thing is the exercise….elliptical here I come!! Thanks for the love!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
