Beach Walking

10 Comments/ 80/ 0

Our recent trip to San Diego, California brought us to quite a few beaches. It was fabulous to be able to walk some of the beautiful beaches there and to be able to enjoy the sunshine. It wasn’t super warm when we were there but you know that does not matter one bit to me. I like beaches in any weather.

So today I thought I would share just a few pictures of some of the beaches we visited. We had a cold snap here in the western North Carolina mountains over the weekend (even saw some snow flurries) and I was reminded that it is always good to take time to look at pictures of beaches when the weather here is less than wonderful. Enjoy.

Seen on one of the cliffs on Solana Beach.

In all of my years of beach walking this was the first time I have ever found sea glass. The white piece may not be sea glass but I am saying it is. I was so excited.

Of course Mother Nature continues to chip away at the cliffs and we saw many houses that were close to the edge or over the edge and unstable. I think there is a lesson in there, don’t you?

Hope you enjoyed your beach walk today. Make sure to leave me a comment and Comment for a Cause for Reece’s Rainbow. More information can be found by clicking here.

I LOVE that first image of the palm tree and the clouds at the horizon over the blue ocean. I’ve never been to San Diego, but it’s on my bucket list! I hear they have beautiful weather all the time. I am currently sitting here listening to huge thunder booms, and watching lightening flash. Katie and I were outside when the first lightening hit. She was freaked. Me too, to be honest. But at least it’s not snow!

We took a drive along A1A yesterday and it was beautiful – the water, the palm trees, the breeze… there’s nothing quite like a walk or drive along the beach. 💕

Ah, since it’s been cold (snow flurries) here lately, I needed to see your beach photos – thanks!! Congrats on finding the sea glass — I’ve never been lucky enough to find it either! Those houses on the cliffs remind me of all the Portland, OR homes built on hillsides and supported by poles that we saw when living there. I wouldn’t feel safe in them, that’s for sure.

Any day at the beach is a good day! Love the sea glass. Is that a real starfish?

There is something special about beach glass … a mystery surrounding each shattered and polished piece. My Mother collected a jar full of those mysteries along the New England coast.

I wouldn’t want to live right on the coast myself, but we have to pick our risks. No place on Earth is safe.
