Teapot Tuesday – A German Teapot

7 Comments/ 91/ 0

Isn’t she lovely?  A pretty red German teapot just aching to be filled with some lovely hot tea.   I found this beauty on Ebay awhile back and fell in love with it.   Nothing makes me smile wider than a red teapot.  Well—maybe Mr. Diamond.

I discovered this one was from Germany when I checked out a somewhat sticky label on the bottom of the pot.

It’s a really fun and beautiful teapot and one that is happy to be in my collection.

Your tea fact for the day:

Afternoon tea is an English custom that started in the 19th century by the Duchess of Bedford. Lighter food and tea were served before lunch and dinner and soon became an important part of social life. The usual time for the afternoon tea is considered being 4 PM.

I love this German Teapot. Having afternoon tea is my favourite and we have it around 4 pm, often sitting outside.

Ja, meine Frau, sie ist schoen…I’ve no idea which form of the adjective a teapot gets in German, or why.
