Beautiful and Delicate—It’s Teapot Tuesday

44 Comments/ 4021/ 0

Fall is quickly coming and it makes me want to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea.  This lovely china teapot features a lovely bird scene and the delicate teacups carry the theme out.  What a wonderful set to serve a favorite brew to a friend on a chilly day. This was another Marshall’s find–you know I love that store and they have some great buys on lovely teapots!

3teapotDid you notice those tea packages?  Of course I found a tea shop when I was in Fort Worth last weekend.  The Spice and Tea Exchange offers a large variety of teas and sniffing the tea is definitely encouraged!!!  I walked away with a packet of Black Chocolate Tea and Mint-Chilla Chai-Nilla Tea which is a blend of green pu-eeh tea, vanilla, peppermint, ginger, cinnamon, and licorice root.  I cannot wait to brew up a pot of that one!

It is very strange, this domination of our intellect by our digestive organs. We cannot work, we cannot think, unless our stomach wills so. It dictates to us our emotions, our passions. After eggs and bacon, it says, “Work!” After beefsteak and porter, it says, “Sleep!” After a cup of tea (two spoonsful for each cup, and don’t let it stand more than three minutes), it says to the brain, “Now, rise, and show your strength. Be eloquent, and deep, and tender; see, with a clear eye, into Nature and into life; spread your white wings of quivering thought, and soar, a god-like spirit, over the whirling world beneath you, up through long lanes of flaming stars to the gates of eternity!” ~Jerome K. Jerome, Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog), 1889

This one looks very British to me—perfect for high tea with cucumber sandwiches followed by scones with clotted cream.
Too bad we didn’t get our Marshall’s here.

Yum—cucumber sandwiches and maybe some delightful little cookies???? I was bummed about our Marshall’s not going in. Big loss in my humble opinion.

Its another pretty pot which definitely looks like one you’d find in a cottage in the country. Just perfect for morning or afternoon tea. I must go visit Marshall’s again! Soon.

Many cold fall and winter evenings are made much more enjoyable with a cup of tea. Don’t have any cute tea pots but do enjoy the warmth from the tea.
