Black and Blue – Frank F. Weber

6 Comments/ 147/ 0

If you are looking for a true crime story to read you will definitely want to check out Black and Blue by Minnesota writer Frank F. Weber. This book really got my attention and once I started reading I absolutely did not want to put it down. I might have neglected a few things to get this one finished.

I first heard about this author from my friend Audrey who blogs over at Minnesota Prairie Roots. Her recommendation of this author was spot on and I was impressed to see that she was quoted in the informational sheet that accompanied my complimentary copy of Black and Blue. But than that is what we readers and writers do. When we find something that is written well and rings true to us we like to share that information with others.

Author Frank F. Webber is a forensic psychologist by training and this book draws upon his experience in that field. So many times I am disappointed by books when the authors don’t appear to have a grasp of the field that that they are writing about but that is definitely not the case here.

The official description of the book below gives you an idea of what the book is all about:

The true story of the search for 19-year-old Sadie Sullivan’s killer.
A chance meeting between Officer Xavier–Zave–Williams and Sadie changed his life and ended hers. Zave joins Investigator Jon Frederick as a black and white team reopening a cold case with a lot of gray–contaminated evidence, questionable court decisions, and two opposing hardened suspects. In the backdrop of modern-day Minneapolis, investigators are left to sort through the chaos, shootings, and political outrage to deliver justice to Sadie’s family. Black and Blue is an intense thriller about tenderness, passion and resilience, in an era when it’s easy to be callous. A true crime of Lover vs. Psychopath. Was the murder racially motivated? What uniform did the killer wear? Prison or Police…

I loved this book and am so happy that it was one that I was able to read this summer. I am on a bit of a reading streak right now and this one was an unexpected winner for me. Thank you to the publisher, literary publicist and author for a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review. If you would like to read my review on Goodreads click here.

To purchase a copy please ask at your local indpendent book store. It is also available on Amazon here.

Sounds so intriguing. I love a good mystery as long as it’s not too gory. Thanks for sharing!
