Comments for a Cause – Help for Ukraine

18 Comments/ 1098/ 0

March 1st has arrived and here we go again on It’s Just Life. It’s a new month so time to let everyone know how much their comments raised for our February Comments for a Cause and share what our new charity will be for the month of March.

In February I chose a local charity to highlight. Transylvania Christian Ministry is probably my most favorite non profit in Transylvania County. With their Sharing House building and ministry they assist families in our county in so many ways. The one program I chose to help promote this month is their Power Up program that helps give assistance for heating costs. You can read more about the program by clicking here.

Today I am thrilled to report that thanks to your faithful comments on my posts about Wordle, stuck Blue Moon trucks (it is now gone), grief, and all of my fun teapot posts. Chris and I are going to be able to donate $124 to Power Up to help folks keep warm this year. Thank YOU!

With all the tis going on in the world it seems only right to support the people of Ukraine during this difficult time of upheaval. I have chose the Ukrainian Red Cross to be the recipient of our Comments for a Cause for March.

As things get increasingly violent in the region the Ukrainian Red Cross will provide volunteers and staff who will provide first aid in areas where access to medical services will be limited. Communication will be established and awareness of health risks will be raised. And, of course, humanitarian aid will be provided to all people in need.

So please, comment freely all month, to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. For every comment made on any post during the month Chris and I will make a 50 cents donation to the Ukrainian Red Cross fund to help in their disaster relief. Please feel free to follow along with their efforts on social media by clicking on the links below.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
