Even though I no longer live in Iowa I am still a huge fan of Clear Lake. Clear Lake is definitely a destination for lake lovers, music lovers, small town lovers and anyone who is on the lookout for a town that has charm and good people.
One of the best things that Clear Lake has to offer is its yearly tourism guide. It is by far one of the best tourism magazines that I have had the chance to see over the years and I have to admit I have picked up quite a few along the way.
But this year I am thrilled to be able to see my name in the magazine as a contributor. There is always something special about seeing your name in print.
I am so excited to have this opportunity to write for an award winning publication and help promote a truly wonderful vacation destination.
Clear Lake boasts so many wonderful restaurants, parks, places to visit and events throughout the year. Even during the winter the place is hopping. Case in point is the Winter Dance Party coming up on February 1-4, 2017 at The Surf Ballroom that is a celebration of the lives and legacies of three of rock and roll’s brightest stars, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson. The snow will probably be flying but that will not prevent thousands of rock and roll fans from coming to spend a few days.
My article focused on the Clear Lake Arts Center which boasts more than most small town art museums could ever dream of having in their community. Classes, events, ever changing exhibits and interesting displays are always the order of the day here. Each visit can be different because of the creativity and the ever evolving artistry that is featured. I was happy to extol my praises of this great place.
