Double Spout on Teapot Tuesday

12 Comments/ 870/ 0

One of my very favorite pots in my collection had to be re-featured today on Teapot Tuesday because it is so unique. I have to admit I have never actually used it but maybe the next time I have my friends Marci and Lali over I will let them pick their teas and use this to fill both of their cups.double spout

First of all it is red.  My favorite color so that made it a winner.doublespout3

Secondly two separate spouts and two separate compartments make this one unique and a collector’s dream find.  I found this one on Ebay several years ago and was thrilled to find this 1940’s teapot that the famous Hall company made for Invento Products.doublespout2

I have seen quite a few of these Double Spouts in various places in different colors and there is a cobalt blue one that I might have to bid on sometime to add to my collection. The red one is in really great condition with just a little bit of crazing on the bottom.

I love a good find and am always looking for Hall teapots.  If I had to pick a favorite type of teapot I think it would be Hall. They are plentiful and there are so many different types that if my collection only contained Hall it would still be varied.

Perhaps there can be too much making of cups of tea, I thought, as I watched Miss Statham filling the heavy teapot. Did we really need a cup of tea? I even said as much to Miss Statham and she looked at me with a hurt, almost angry look, ‘Do we need tea? she echoed. ‘But Miss Lathbury…’ She sounded puzzled and distressed and I began to realise that my question had struck at something deep and fundamental. It was the kind of question that starts a landslide in the mind. I mumbled something about making a joke and that of course one needed tea always, at every hour of the day or night.  Barbara Pym

It is a great idea, isn’t it? I love how sturdy Hall teapots are as well.

I will remember that: Hall. I like the simplicity of the design. No frills. Simply lovely.

Hall is historically a really favored brand and they have many different styles but all very functional and sturdy. I have never seen a Hall I did not like.
