Eggplant Love on Teapot Tuesday

18 Comments/ 3894/ 0

The final selection in my mini vegetable teapot line from Avon is what I am featuring today.  Obviously this little guy is too small to brew in and the warning on the bottom of the pot is a clue that this line was meant to be decorative only.  I love the rich color of this little guy and the lid is topped off with some pretty intricate blossoms.  While I am not a lover of eggplant (too squash like for me—remember my aversion to all things squash as well as cooked carrots?) this one makes me smile.  Eggplant Mini Teapot

It really is even better in real life, trust me.  I am learning how to use my new Square lighting kit and have not had a lot of time to play around with it so I am still learning.  I think when I perfect using it I will have much better photos but for this week these will just have to do. Avon mini teapot

Mini Avon Eggplant teapot

“Perhaps there can be too much making of cups of tea, I thought, as I watched Miss Statham filling the heavy teapot. Did we really need a cup of tea? I even said as much to Miss Statham and she looked at me with a hurt, almost angry look, ‘Do we need tea? she echoed. ‘But Miss Lathbury…’ She sounded puzzled and distressed and I began to realise that my question had struck at something deep and fundamental. It was the kind of question that starts a landslide in the mind. I mumbled something about making a joke and that of course one needed tea always, at every hour of the day or night.”

A little square lighting tent with lights and a tripod….I obviously need to work on learning to use it. My house does not have great light to take pictures so was hoping this would help. i am not surprised you love eggplant. Seems right for you!

I, too, wondered about the square lighting tent, but checked it out. You will have to blog about this and whether you think it helps/works.

Give me an eggplant, squash and carrots any day. I love all of them.

I need to get it figured out first! I am kind of a basket case when it comes to this for some reason. The lights are really bright and it is all about eliminating all the shadows around the object but I just have not had time to “stage” and play with it properly. Someday!

This is a great addition to your veggie-pots, Beth Ann! (But, like you, I don’t eat eggplant, ha!) Love the quote you included, too1

I have eaten it in an eggplant parmesan type of dish but not really a huge fan. I need to branch out, right? All my friends say I need to love it. 🙂

Of all the mini vege teapots you have shown us, this one is my favourite. Here in Europe they call eggplants aubergines. There was a time I didn´t like eggplants but I have found some great recipes and now I love them. I also really like the colour of them.

An eggplant tea pot. Somehow that just tickles my funny bone. I know it is decorative but imagine serving tea from it nonchalantly as in, “Oh yes, eggplant tea pots are common around here…” Beth Ann, a tad over the top. But it made me giggle and I like the color.
