From Preemie to a Ripe Old Age of 22

2 Comments/ 1143/ 0

Today is our “baby’s ” 22nd birthday! Hard to believe that that cute little baby who decided to pop into the world 6 weeks (at a whopping 5 pounds 10 ounces) early is now 22, a college grad and a fabulous young man! We are blessed. Of course a mama gets a little nostalgic around birthdays and remembers all the cool parties along the way. Doubt that Aaron would want that McDonald’s party anymore! I always tried to make birthdays extra special because that was one thing I remember about my childhood. My mom (and dad I am sure but it was more my mom’s doing!) held great birthday parties for us. We were able to have a “big” party every other year where our whole class was invited. Birthday cakes were theme cakes and the parties were great events with lots of games and fun activities. I think that was the one thing that I wanted to do for my boys over the years and hopefully they have some good memories of parties and cakes and fun times.

So please indulge me today if I get a little misty eyed thinking about him. The pictures are more for me than anyone else but hope some of you can remember our Aaron over the years!

Happy Birthday Aaron! I guess I never knew you’d had a preemie. We had 2 early ones….Robert at 7 months and only 4 lb 9 oz and Kevin at 8 months and was 5 lb 2 oz. Loved the pics..what a cutie..then and now!

Aaron was 6 weeks early–he came and delayed Paula and Carl’s trip out west because they were with us–thank goodness!!! Carla will never forget that she was not “allowed” to see Baby Aaron because she was too little—I would have snuck her in if I could have!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
