Unfortunately this is a sign that can be seen in various forms at various businesses around the country. I know we are not alone in the staff shortage in restaurants and retail shops but this restaurant stated it loud and clear outside their door. We have experienced that long wait here a few times and yet we have gone back. I guess we understand.
But not everyone does understand, do they? We have witnessed many rude exchanges over the past couple of years with patrons and wait staff. Exchanges that seem over the top and unnecessary at times. I try to remind myself that I don’t know the whole story — I don’t know what has happened that day for that person and what has led them to lose their temper over something fairly inconsequential.
Let’s be honest – it’s been a tough few years. We all need to practice a little patience and kindness and understanding, don’t you think? And ask for a cracker.
