Happiness = Gratefulness

13 Comments/ 111/ 1

One of my practices right now is to list my gratitudes.  It really is a simple thing to do and takes very little time.  Here are 15 ideas of things that everyone can be thankful for.  I would love to hear any or all of your gratitudes in the comments.

Join in and share with me what you are grateful for today.

  1. A friend—Ann–my BFF.
  2. Physical activity that you can do—–walk without any discomfort or pain.
  3. Something kind—a smile.
  4. A teacher—Mrs. Young–my Creative Writing teacher who encouraged me in many ways.
  5. What brings you joy—-music.
  6. What you’re good at—listening.
  7. An adventure—-every vacation with my husband is an adventure.
  8. What you love about yourself—my generous heart.
  9. Something beautiful—-springtime in the mountains.
  10. Favorite food—chocolate.
  11. Favorite book—currently it is Beach Music by Pat Conroy.
  12. A gift you received—my wedding ring.
  13. What you do every day—pray.
  14. Can’t live without–my morning cup of coffee. Well, I could but it wouldn’t be pretty.
  15. Something that was hard but you learned—-how to drive a manual car in a week.

What a great idea. May steak this to put up in the blog. I’m feeling challenged as to what to post… it’s like a hang up right now.

Wonderful! I like this specific way of counting blessings. I am grateful for the Silver Sneakers program at our community rec center- caring, fun and knowledgeable instructors and a great group of zesty and inspiring “old people”. And I’m grateful for you and your blog, Beth.

I’m grateful and very happy that Dot is OK after sniffing a procession caterpillar this morning. They are poisonous for dogs. She started to vomit and get weak at the knees so we rushed her to the vet. She was given some shots and is resting at home now.

Oh no! I am so glad you got her to the vet quickly and that she is resting now. That would have scared the bejeebers out of me. I never knew there were caterpillars who were poison to dogs .

They are awful and I was so frightened. I had been warned about them but thought they were gone by now. Here’s some info in them. https://ezinearticles.com/?Procession-Caterpillars—Friend-Or-Foe?&id=1847501
Dot is fine now but we won’t be going back to the park anytime soon.

I am so glad you get to see your grandchildren this weekend. Hope the basement flooding is kept to a minimum and that you guys are able to enjoy some great time with family.

Yay for sunshine! We had rain most of the day but it cleared off now so hopefully the weekend will be sunny and bright.

Counting our blessings always puts life in perspective, I think. And what better time to do so than during the Lenten season?

You are so correct. Blessings abound and all we have to do is look and recognize them.
