If It’s Tuesday It Must Be Teapot Time–Week 2

12 Comments/ 1350/ 0

As promised–a view of another of my teapots from my massive collection! This one is actually part of a child’s tea set and is VERY special to me.  It belonged to my Daddy’s sister.  I never really knew my Aunt Ruth–she passed away when she was a young mother.  My daddy took the tea set when we cleaned out my grandparent’s house and eventually he asked me if I would like to have it.  This was way before my teapot collection phase started so maybe he knew!!!   I loved it and even though it did suffer some damage in one of our moves and I am left with only 4 of the original teacups the rest of the set is in good shape for as old as it is.  I keep it in the oak barristers bookcase that also came from my Grandma and Grandpa Brown that my parents passed along to me.

Oh, for fun. I could see where it would be so special since it belonged to your Auntie. Its a fun set.
I’m going to so enjoy your teapots. I never really gave them much thought. So to see the different types will be educational and fun.

It is a fun set though I have never actually had tea in it! I know that she had fun with it and it has some history to it so that is what means the most!!! Glad you are enjoying my “pots”!!!

Ooooh, colour me green with envy. I love that set. I’m partial to the brown decoration over the more common blue.

I also get a kick out of how the sugar pot is as big as the tea pot. What a wonderful heirloom.

    Congrats.

It is pretty, isn’t it?? I have never done any research on it but it does not matter to me if it is worth a penny or a million dollars! It is the sentiment that counts!!! And you are right—they must have oversized the sugar pot!!! The sweeter the better? Thanks for stopping by!!! Come back on Tuesdays for more teapots!!!

What a beautiful set, Beth Ann and with such sentimental value to boot. Hugs, Diane

I like the teapot with the dog on it! The only teapot I have is from my kid dish set. I’m not a tea drinker.

The dog theme reminds me of all of those old time pictures of the girl and the dog—you know what I am talking about??? My mom has one from my grandparent’s house of a blonde hair girl lying on the grass under a tree, I think, with a big old dog. I think it was a popular theme for pictures at one time!
Tea is wonderful, in my humble opinion, though I love coffee too!
