If It’s Tuesday It Must Be Teatime!

7 Comments/ 1858/ 0

I decided to start a new fun thing on Tuesdays!!!  And you get to be a part of it!!!  I collect teapots and Tuesday is the day that I am going to show you my collection, bit by bit!!!   I have a lot so I figure it will keep my Tuesday posts filled for a good long time.  Not sure exactly how many I have at this point since I purged a lot before our move to Australia in 2008 but I still have plenty!!!

The above teapot is the one that started it all.   So I figured that was the one I should start with!   We lived in Greenville, Ohio from 1987-1991. I made a lot of great friends there and still keep in touch with several of them today thanks to Facebook and the wonderful internet.   One of my friends, Linda, invited me for tea quite often and we would let the kids play while we had a cuppa.  When it was time for me to move to Pennsylvania she gave me this teapot as a goodbye gift.  She said it was a “sporty” teapot.  She could not find one that was exactly what she wanted to give me but this one was pretty close .  It wasn’t fancy and it wasn’t plain —it was just plain “sporty”.  So it seems right today to honor the sportiest of my teapots and drink a cuppa brewed from the one that started my collection.   Hope you can find some time to have a cuppa today!!!

Oh, I’m so excited you are doing this. I’m not a tea drinker but do love the pretty pots. You framed it lovely with the flowers on either side.

Teapots! I just bought a new condo and am starting to decide on decor…I think teapots would be a great thing to collect and store on top of the cabinets. I always look at them when I shop, but never have bought one. I’ll keep you posted 🙂

Oh I think teapots would be a fabulous thing to use to decorate with. One house we had I had that space open above the cabinets and that is exactly what I put there! it was beautiful! And another place I actually had teapot wallpaper. There are tons of ideas out there so let me know if you decide to go that way. I would love to see pictures! You can pick up a bunch at second hand shops or antique stores too!!!
