Job for a Day

11 Comments/ 187/ 0

Sometimes I like to read writing prompts and this one hit me as a good one to explore.

What is a job that you would like to do for just one day?

Well, that is a very good question, isn’t it? Hmmm. It got me to thinking.

I always wanted to be a nurse but I normally faint at the sight of blood so I ruled that one out as a career. If I didn’t have that affliction I think that would still be my number one answer. Nurses are wonderful people. They help others. They do good.

Or how about a librarian? Oh wait – I do a lot of those duties already so that one is not in the running anymore.

An astronaut? Maybe. Assuming I knew what I was doing.

I have been sitting here thinking about this question for longer than I should and there are a lot of things floating around in the ole brain about this one. I think I may have finally decided on one.

I would love to be an inspirational / motivational speaker for one day. A good one. Not one of those mediocre ones that makes you look at your watch and wonder how much longer they are going to be droning on. I would love to be one of those speakers who has witty stories and wisdom to impart where people hang onto your every word and you see little imaginary light bulbs go on above their heads. Wouldn’t that just be a hoot ? Just for one day. Then I would be fine to have that in the past and done. But what fun would it be to see an audience react to what I had to say? Pretty affirming and fun.

What about you? If you had one day to do any job, what would it be? I would love to hear about it in the comments so make sure you leave me one and Comment for a Cause for the Copeland Oaks Library.

Such an interesting prompt and one I don’t have a quick answer to. I do agree with you about nurses though. They are amazing!!!

There are so many things I’d like to do! Still being an author is at the top of the list.

You would be a great motivational speaker and one I would come to hear! If I could have a job for one day it would be a tour guide.

You definitely would add insight to whatever group you talked to. You are an inspiration. Remember that God gave you gifts and talents. Use them for His glory🙏

I would love to work with little ones in kindergarten or first graders. One day would be as long as I could last. Lol
