Lighting Up on Teapot Tuesday

No, no, no –not that kind of lighting up!  Lighthouses are one of my favorite things to go see when we are on an adventure and I have several large lighthouse teapots in my collection.  It seems right that when I unpacked that long lost box of miniature teapots when I was preparing for the move that I found a cute little lighthouse set.  teaset3A quick peek at the teapot itself shows a tiny lighthouse poised just ready to pour an imaginary cup of tea. And just look at those tiny windows.teaset2Even though a drink out of the cups is impossible I love the detail that this set boasts.teaset

“Kissing is like drinking tea through a tea-strainer; you’re always thirsty afterwards.”-Old Chinese saying

Oh, how sweet!!! You should definitely plan a trip to the Outer Banks: several lighthouses there. And we’d meet you and take you to see horses. They’re just past Corolla Lighthouse!

You know that trip will happen sooner rather than later, right? We have been to quite a few of the Outer Banks Lighthouses but I am always ready to go back to see any lighthouse again. I hope we can make a trip this fall after we get settled. Gotta meet you in real life!

I also love lighthouses and this little tea set is the tops! Will you have a spot to display your miniature sets in your new house? It would be a shame to put them away in a box again.

I will have to figure it all out when I get moved in. Not sure. I may have to trade things in and out—-I have a feeling my collection is growing too large to be displayed and I would rather have the house be neater so we will see. Chris told me I have to count as I unpack them…..

This one is very whimsical. I love how they are all enclosed in their own moats in the ocean.

These reminded me of a couple of friends who used to collect lighthouse souvenirs while living. (He was still doing some outdoor work at 89. Are lighthouse lovers generally healthy people?)

I really like this set. I love lighthouses. We have visited many on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. I would love to see all of the Great Lakes light houses.

There are a lot of lighthouse lovers out there. Have you been to the Marblehead one by Lakeside, Ohio? That is my all time favorite lighthouse because we go to Lakeside every year. There are times when you can go up into it as well which is pretty cool.
