Miniature Teapots on Teapot Tuesday

23 Comments/ 4942/ 0

A long time ago…in a galaxy far, far away……

I found a set of miniature teapots for sale through Avon.  This was back in the day when the Avon lady came to your door and actually sold more products that way than online.  I have not featured these yet on Teapot Tuesday and even though they are not for brewing tea they are teapots so they qualify, right?  Here is the first of the series and one that I am especially fond of in the “vegetable” category.  Not quite a “Chile pepper” but close. Avon3

There are those who love to get dirty and fix things. They drink coffee at dawn, beer after work. And those who stay clean, just appreciate things. At breakfast they have milk and juice at night. There are those who do both, they drink tea. – Gary Snyder

Cuteness, right there (except, of course, the poisonous part)! And I love that quote.

Yea, the poisonous part makes me a little nervous. Do you think it is lead based or something? Yikes!

Quite possibly…or who knows what’s in the material it’s made of…yikes. I want to stop thinking about that now. :-O

The label is scary—-I agree!!! But the set of teapots is pretty cute—fruits and vegs.

Another adorable teapot. Avon has always had some nice products. Years ago I sold Avon, often taking my two year old along with me. Everyone loved her and I feel she was responsible for many of my sales! My Avon lady in Canada still came to my house. We became very good friends.
PS I still only get the odd post. (??)

Thanks Darlene. I love that you sold Avon. One of my friends in high school actually sold it during her high school years and I always thought that was so cool!

This was the beginning of your teapots? I think it is really a pretty one. As long as there are no young children around it should be a safe teapot.

No–this one did not start the collection but it was there early on. 🙂

Love the quote at the end. I have a tiny tea set, with the tea pot, mugs and saucers and my girls used to love having “tea parties” with the set. I keep it in my china cabinet now so that one day i can give it to one of them.

Aw—that is such a great idea to pass it on to one of the girls. I actually have my aunt’s tea set that my dad saved for me and gave to me years before I started collecting teapots. It has the most special place in my china cabinet. 🙂
