Yesterday I shared a few of the entries in the National Gingerbread House Competition that is held at the Omni Grove Park Inn resort in Asheville, NC. Today I wanted to share a few more of those spectacular entries.
To view the exhibits you have a few options. The information on their website is quite helpful and I have copied it here for your convenience in case you are considering going to view the event.
The official Gingerbread display begins on Sunday, November 28, 2021 and will continue through Sunday, January 2, 2022. Guests not staying at the Resort are invited to view the display after 3:00 p.m. on Sundays or anytime Monday through Thursday, based on parking availability and excluding holidays and the following dates: December 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and January 1. Public viewing on December 26 and January 2 will reopen after 3:00 p.m. All Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for registered resort guests and those that have confirmed dining reservations. Display access is subject to hotel capacity, including pedestrian traffic. Please note that only Registered Resort Pets will be permitted. No outside pets will be allowed. Parking is available for $25 for self park and $35 for valet parking. Admission to the actual exhibit is free but you must pay for parking in order to get on the property. Of course parking is limited to availability and at times there may not be parking.
Another thing to note is that Buncombe County does have an indoor mask mandate. There are signs everywhere and I mean everywhere. Despite all of the signage when we visited there were probably about 40-50% that were unmasked. All of the employees wear masks but they obviously do not or can not enforce the mask mandate with guests. We tried to avoid unmasked folks but that is a risk you might be taking if you attend.
Now on to the beautiful creations.
