Pretty Much a Perfect Day!

Leave a Comment/ 1187/ 0

It has been a pretty perfect day here!!! We got up early and took a nice bike ride on our brand spanking new Trek bikes bought from Wayne’s Ski and Cycle here in Mason City! We are pacing ourselves….doing a little bit more each day…..after all—-we aren’t youngsters anymore! But it has been great to get out and do a bit of riding and the weather was perfect today for that. After we got back I made Chris’s favorite breakfast complete with Spam (light!!!) and as a matter of fact we ate all 3 meals on the deck today which was wonderful!!!

The rest of the morning was spent washing windows —it had been awhile since we had done it and it is so much easier to do it with 2 people. I am glad to get that behind us and also very glad that we have a ranch style house right now! The frustrating thing is that you can’t get the screens out—when they put the blinds in it blocks being able to actually pop the screens out. At least WE can’t figure out how it can be done. So you have to be a little creative when it comes to screen cleaning. But anyway—windows cleaned, and Chris worked a bit on the grill…which is another story.

We brought back our grill from Australia because we loved it so much not even thinking at the time that the ones there take different size tanks and have different pressures and fittings. Well, after some ingenuity Chris thought he had it all fixed and working and he did…..for about a minute …..we have decided to cut our losses and just buy a new one…….it isn’t worth having an accident over and I could see that happening!!! So…..if anyone needs an Aussie grill we would be happy to let you come get it!!! Give away! Guess it is off to Menards for a new one.

All in all a perfect day—spent a lot of time outside, went to see “Date Night”, spent time together, had great Buffalo burgers for dinner and am looking forward to another 2 days of great weather and time with the hubby!! Life is good.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
