Pumpkin Spice 2017 – Part 1

24 Comments/ 93/ 1

Pumpkin Spice.

You either love it or you hate it.  Last year I found a few pumpkin spice themed items and shared them with my readers.  You can read that post by clicking here.

I had so many comments on that post that I thought it needed to become a yearly thing .  As long as new pumpkin spice items are out there I will bring them to you, my faithful readers.  Far be it from to keep you deprived.

This year there are a lot of the normal pumpkin spice themed foods and offerings.

First up some pretty normal items.  Food offerings with the pumpkin spice flavor are pretty common.  A pumpkin spice bar mix, scones and candies all with the flavor are pretty doggone appealing to me and all have been deemed edible.   Nothing too wild and crazy with these items that you could expect to be tasty.

Next up are some household items that carry the pumpkin spice scent.   Who wouldn’t want a nice pumpkin spice air freshener or a candle that makes the house smell all fall like?   The pumpkin spice soap is what Mr. Diamond has been using which might explain why I have been attracted to him post shower……

Next up are a couple of pet related pumpkin spice items.  I know you don’t normally equate pumpkin spice with animal items but here you go.  A sweet bag of pumpkin spice doggie treats and a pumpkin spice scented squeaky doughnut toy for Grandpuppy Penny.

The doughnut really smelled like pumpkin spice and Penny loved it.  So much so that when we Facetimed with Micah and Wendy we could barely hear above the loud squeaking.  Penny was not happy when they took it away from her as you can see in the following picture.

My final category today is pumpkin spice themed books.  Yes.  Books.  A fun little young reader book which found its way to the Little Free Library at the Whistlestop Market and a Sudoko book which found a home with my brother in law for his pleasure during his recent surgical recovery.   His reaction I am told was eye rolling.  I kind of agree.

So there you have my first offerings of pumpkin spice for 2017.  Stay tuned for another post at least.

Do you have any unusual pumpkin spice sightings?  I would love to hear all about them in the comments.  Every comment means $1 donation this month to UMCOR Hurricane Irma Recovery Efforts.

Penny is so cute. Might have to see if Trayse likes pumpkin spice. I’m not a fan of the flavor in random foods, but I like the traditional fall foods its in like desserts, coffee drinks, etc. I also can see how it would make household things smell like fall.

Penny is pretty adorable, isn’ t she? I do love her. And the toy was pretty annoying so not sure how long it lasted . And my house smells very much like fall right now.

Thanks for a fun PS post. My PS discovery this year was PS Cheerios. I sprinkle them on my (regular) oatmeal and yogurt. I’ve also tried maple yogurt. I hear that Maple is the new PS. Happy Fall!

Oh I have tried the PS Cheerios and they are pretty tasty. Maple is pretty darn yummy so I agree that it could boot PS out of the front lines pretty soon!

This is so much fun. Now I will be on the look out for pumpkin spice items. I just had pumpkin spice cream cheese on graham crackers this morning (because I was out of bagels). It’s from Aldi and I have to buy it every autumn and take a break from my usual breakfast of oatmeal with fruit.

Hmmm—PS cream cheese would be good if only I liked cream cheese. 🙂

I love Pumpkin spice – everything – pretty much. It’s fall for me… and this post reminded me that my very first post on bocafrau was “pumpkin spice and everything nice” and that right around now is my 6 year blogging anniversary.

Pumpkin spice… Not so much a flavor as it is a marketing ploy. Wait until fall and throw the spices you find in pumpkin pie in everything. I don’t understand the obsession when people literally have access to it year round. Oh well, I’ll just chalk it up to a celebration of autumn!!! That’s something we can all get behind, especially here, fall is soooo beautiful. I do like the smell too, but I wait until after thanksgiving when the stores put out all their pumpkin spiced crap out in shopping carts for 50% off and scoop up a bunch of candles on the cheap! Happy Autumn!

I don’t believe I’ve had anything pumpkin spiced except, of course, for pumpkin pie. And I think I’m fine with that. Grandpuppy is soooooo cute!

The first thing I had when I got to the Vancouver airport was a Pumpkin Spice latte at Starbucks. It was also the last thing I had before I flew back home. I think I will always go back in the fall for that reason alone!! Nothing pumpkin spice here in Spain. Maybe in the UK when we go at the end of the month. Penny is so darn cute!! Dot would love to play with her.

No PS in Spain? That is surprising. I thought it was universal. 🙂 Penny would LOVE to play with Dot. She would try to herd her ….her favorite activity.

There may be some PS in the larger centres but we don’t have it here where I live. That would be so cute to see Penny herding Dot! Today Dot got to run free on the beach with other dogs of various sizes. She was still the fastest.

Oh I bet Dot was thrilled to run on the beach. She is just so doggone adorable. She needs a pumpkin spice donut squeaky toy!

I had my first SB Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte the other day, and tho I’m ashamed to admit it…OMG, I am soooo in love. I know, I should be ashamed of myself but I. Can’t. Help. Slurping. Every. Last. Drop! Do you suppose there is a connection between that and the fact that pumpkin pie is my very favorite? And I agree, Penny is such a cutie!

You know, I like pumpkin and I do love the spices that entail the pumpkin spice flavor, but I just can’t get into all of these PS products on the shelves right now. For me, it’s like enough already! Overkill. Okay, maybe I’m just old and cranky….rant over now. 😉

Pumpkin spice was President Obama’s favorite, so that made it trendy. (Nice to have something in common with him, isn’t it?) But…pumpkin spice *sudoku*? How is that possible? Sudoku is strictly numbers…is it printed on scented paper?

I had no idea it was a favorite of President Obama. Learned something today! And you are the only one that picked up on the sudoku —it has absolutely NOTHING pumpkin spice about it. Just named pumpkin spice. Ridiculous, right?
