Slightly Savory Saturday

One of the easiest recipes around and tastes fabulous!  Give it a try!

Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings

Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings at It’s Just Life (www.bethannchiles.com)

Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings

1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts

2 TBSP unsalted butter

2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup

1 can chicken broth (14 oz)

1 medium white onion, chopped

1 can flaky refrigerator biscuits –you will use 4 of these

Place thawed chicken in crock pot and top with butter. Add cream of chicken soup and diced onions. Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 8 hours. Do not stir while cooking.

Cut each uncooked biscuit into 9 small pieces and stir into chicken mixture. Continue to cook on high for 30 minutes. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with a fork. (I did this before adding the biscuits and I think it worked better.) Return to slow cooker and stir everything together. Serve hot. Serves 6. Great easy meal!

Oh yum. Thank you. Question: Do you only cut up 4 individual biscuits from one tube? Just clarifying … sometimes I read recipes way wrong! 😉

Yep—- I only use 4 — you just have to make sure they cook long enough so they aren’t still doughy. Might take longer depending on how your crock pot cooks. The last time I made this I let them cook longer and it was really great!!!

This sounds very good and easy. Could I make 1|2 of the recipe? Too much for one person and I do not want to try it out on company.
