Chris asked me to make a day of it the other day and spend the day with him driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and beyond to see the colorful leaves. In the back of my mind I was thinking about all that I had to do including those dirty windows but I said yes and we had a nice little adventure.
We ended up driving all day, hit three states and 5 national forests in our travels and saw sights from the highest part of the parkway down to the the 2-3000 elevation where colors are truly at peak right now. It was fun and you know what? Those dirty windows and all of the other household stuff was still there when we got home.
Time is short so I have decided to try to live in the moment a little bit more and do things like this. Enjoy the pictures.

There was a group of bear hunters with their dogs gathered at one of the overlooks and I had to get a shot of one of the trucks with the dogs. Their tails were thumping inside their pens but I didn’t pet them because their owners weren’t around. I always ask.
The kudzu is dying.
There is so much beauty in the mountains. Even as the leaves fall – there is still beauty.

Thanks for sharing
I’m glad you took the time to do this day trip with Chris to view the fall colors. Work will, indeed, wait. Beautiful colors!
So happy you & Chris took the time to see God’s beauty. Chuck and I took three days last week ourselves. We saw pure beauty. Your pictures are amazing! I love those spares of the moment times with my hubby.
Fabulous photos! I’m glad you dropped everything to go for the drive.
Good choice to go out on the Parkway. The windows will still be there…and even if you had stayed home to wash them you’d only have to do it again.
Good that you went! It’s a beautiful drive no matter what season. We’ve driven the Blue Ridge Parkway too and loved it. Much better than looking at dirty windows!! 😉
