I am blessed with so many friends. I really am. Recently I made a new friend who gifted me with a beautiful teapot.
We had spent the weekend at The Biltmore for a company event and I got to entertain the spouses while the “guys” had leadership meetings. A few of us had never met but the amazing thing was that we all clicked like we were old friends. I love when that happens.
One of the ladies found out about my love of teapots and as a thank you gifted me this adorable set that she found in one of the many shops at The Biltmore. I loved the details on the flowers which I think might be lavender on the teapot. They are delicate and detailed.
Of course it is fun when you can use the cup that is a part of the set and enjoy the perfect cup of tea brewed and poured from the one cup teapot.
I absolutely love the teapot that Sheri gifted me and I am looking forward to more time with these ladies in the future. We really did forge some friendships and that always is a good thing.

I’m an afternoon tea type of girl. I come from a Russian background where we love our teas. So between lunch and dinner after training I come home and I love a nice cup of tea with jam in it, as we drink it there. Black English Breakfast tea with raspberry jam is my favorite. – Maria Sharapova, professional tennis player

Thanks, Dianna. It really was a fun weekend and we all just got along so well. The teapot will be a nice reminder!
Yes! It is lavender! And lavender is my favorite scent. I keep meaning to plant some around here! Deer don’t like it. So, now this teapot is my fav! It’s really beautiful and well-done! Such a nice gift.
Thanks, Marci! I knew my botanical friend would be able to identify for sure. I have always had lavender growing and in Iowa I had a lovely little patch by the side of the house. I wonder if it is still there. It is such a refreshing herb, isn’t it? I used to put little sprigs in vases around the house and loved it.
I can see why you love this teapot. It is daintily beautiful.
Do you keep a record of who gifts you with teapots and the stories behind such gifts?
I have a vague record. 🙂 Another thing to put on my to do list. Catalog all of my teapots. I was going to do it when I moved but that ship has sailed. 🙂 But someday, Audrey, I will do it . Hopefully before I have to give them all away. 🙂
Raspberry jam in tea? I’ve never heard of such a thing, but it sounds nice. A little fruity, a lot sweet, all dumped in a nice cup of black tea…. Things that make ya’ go Hhhmmm.
I know! I had not idea but now that I think about it it does make perfect sense. IT would sweeten it and give it some flavor as well. Yum.
This is a darling teapot and I love the sprigs of lavender on it. Always great to make new friends isn´t it. I love the Maria Sharapova quote too. Russian tea is always drunk with jam, a lovely custom.
I love that quote too and had not idea that it was drunk with jam. See, I learn something new all of the time!
What a beautiful little set. I love the detail of the flowers – so delicate and pretty. A lovely gesture from a new friend.
It is adorable, isn’t it? I love it.
