What’s On My Nightstand

11 Comments/ 82/ 0

I have been on a reading jag lately thanks to the incessant rain in our area. When I say incessant I am not joking. We live in a temperate rain forest and the past two days we have gotten around 7 inches of rain. No joke. Maybe more. But it is what makes our waterfalls gush and our trees green and lush so I try to not complain too much.

I have stacks of books to read and this stack is what I am working on currently.

I think you can tell that I like a variety of books. From Slenderman by Kathleen Hale to local author Terry Roberts latest The Sky Club I am reading up a storm. Josie and Vic by Debra Thomas is an ARC that I was sent to read and review and Dispatches from Pluto is for an upcoming book club meeting. The Forest of Vanishing Stars was highly recommended to me by a friend and the book Where All Light Tends to Go caught my eye in the Connestee Library.

I have a trip to Ohio at the end of the month and you bet I will be taking along a load of books for that trip both on my Kindle, Audible and hard copies. The beauty of books is that you can get them in so many forms these days.

So what are you reading? I would love to hear what is on your nightstand/coffee table and what you recommend. Let me know in the comments and remember to Comment for a Cause — Muddy Sneakers.

I am just finishing a book I borrowed from my daughter, ‘I Take My Coffee Black’, by Tyler Merritt, really a good book. I would recommend this one.

You’ve found the positive side of inclement weather- time for a good book. You have an enticing stack of books! The only one I’ve read is “Vanishing Stars”. (I’ve read too many WW2 books- taking a break from them.) I’m reading “The Home Wreckers” by Mary Kay Adrews. My turn on Libby finally came. Fun book!

Looks like an interesting assortment. I’m not reading quite that many books. One at a time for me and more than likely on my Kindle. Right now I’m reading another Nora Roberts.

I’ve been reading a lot too and checking out tons of library books. Lately, I’ve been reading some Charles Martin novels and can’t wait to read more of them.

I wish I did read more. I am a very slow reader.

Like Shirley, I’m a slow reader, but I’m currently reading And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini and loving it. I’m also reading War and Peace but one chapter a day for the entire year. I do like it though and sometimes sneak in two chapters. I love the variety of your books.

I am reading How To Talk Minnesotan by Howard Mohr, who just died. It’s been many years since I read this title. Mohr is from my home area.
