White Squirrel Wednesday

15 Comments/ 86/ 2

Recent white squirrel sightings on my side porch found this little fluffy guy enjoying my bird feeders. I just can’t chase the white ones out of here for some reason.

At first I spied a fluffy tail.
So nice of these people making a little perch for me here to enjoy the tasty sunflower seeds in this feeder.
Nom nom.
Sure is tasty!
Time to move on – my belly is full!

Cute pictures! I still cannot get over the fact that there are white squirrels! I never knew that til we met a few weeks ago. They are so pretty, I probably couldn’t chase them away either. Now, these brown ones…..!! (We should participate in a Wildlife Wednesday meme today. I blogged about ducks!)

The tail cracked me up! That was all I saw when I first glanced out the window and it was twitching around like crazy!

I have never seen a white squirrel. And you have more than one? We used to just have the regular big fat brown squirrels…and now we have those and grey squirrels and black squirrels and some that seem to be a combination, but no white squirrels. Yet.

They are definitely a thing here and our town boasts about 1700 it says! This weekend is the White Squirrel Festival with all kinds of goings on and such fun! I wrote a tiny bit about them in this post: https://itsjustlife.me/a-little-bit-of-heaven-in-north-carolina/

I’ve only ever seen one white squirrel. You’ve got a chubby healthy one in your backyard! He/she is beautiful!

He sure is cute. I can see why you don’t chase them away. I know Dot would though. She loves chasing squirrels in the park. Only have black ones here.

There’s a town to our south which boasts LOTS of white squirrels, but the ones I typically see here are fat and brown. Some are a gray color and thinner. I wonder if dogs find white squirrels as annoying as the other varieties?! Great pictures, Beth Ann — thank you for sharing them here.
