A Bit of This and That

8 Comments/ 107/ 0

It’s been a great week here in rainy Transylvania County and I couldn’t be happier. One reason is pictured below.

I was so happy to get my first shot on Monday – got lucky getting an appointment and get the next one on April 19th. Working on getting Chris his now which I am confident will happen in the next couple of weeks. It is such a wonderful feeling to know we are on the road to being safer.

I am excited about finding some really great books to include in my Little Free Library and in the Connestee Library when it re-opens. The Dim Sum for Everyone one is for Theo’s Easter basket – it is the cutest little board book.

Maksim has been a naughty cat lately. I have some decorative carrots sprinkled on my dining room table as part of my Easter display. Apparently he loves it and every morning I have come out to various pieces and parts scattered around the house. I finally gave up and put them all away.

I joined the Ladies Luncheon Committee here at Connestee on Wednesday to do a hugely successful Easter Dinner Food Drive. It was a pretty miserable rainy day but we were able to collect over $2500 and 4 filled cars/vans of food for our local Bread of Life and Sharing House charities. That will go a very long way to help our neighbors with food insecurities. It was a really fun day and I was so happy to be able to be involved.

Our General Manager, Jim Whitmore, was a good sport and dressed up as the Easter Bunny during the morning to help us with our event.

As I am writing this on Thursday afternoon we have all kinds of bad weather coming our way. Tornado warnings (which are very rare for us) and lots of lightening and rain. My glass half full attitude is happy that they lake is now filled back up thanks to all of the rain.

Sooo thankful that you all are safe!!! We’ve been getting some high winds here, but thankfully no tornado warnings. Still, straight line winds can pack a wallop and wreak plenty of havoc. So cool to see what all you are doing to help your community. And I love to see Maksim’s hijinks! What an ornery litter turd bird! Love him!

Looks like Maskim was a naughty cat. We were happy for the rain, we needed it.

So happy you were able to get your first shot. More and more people are getting vaccinated and that makes me so.
Naughty Maksim. Don’t you just love having pets??? 😂
Our Sunny is teething so bad right now and just this morning I caught her chewing on the baseboards. She’s been so good but I guess we need to keep an eye on her now and scatter some more chew bones around the house.

Oh, Beth Ann, I’m thankful you got your first vaccination. And look at that band-aid and sticker. I just got a plain old band-aid. But it doesn’t matter. I got my shot. And now Randy needs one. MN is opening up eligibility to all 16 and older beginning on March 30. They will still have a prioritization system. Hopefully Randy’s age, job and inability to work remotely will bump him closer to the top.

I hope you continue to stay safe through all that nasty weather. We had our first tornado warning several weeks ago (incredibly early for MN). Thankfully, no tornadoes developed. Stay safe, my friend.
