Our Easter was just that. Glorious. We started with watching the sunrise service at Pretty Place online. The sunrise was not as beautiful as some years but it was still a really good service with a wonderful message.

Next up was our own church service held at Porter Center at Brevard College. We had some really amazing music, communion and a message from our pastor that was inspiring and encouraging. I think it hit me today how difficult the past 7 months have been and the service was such an emotional release for some reason. It hit me in all the right places and it was worship. Truly worship. Afterwards there was an egg hunt but we didn’t stay for that.

We ate our feast outside in the picture perfect weather and I enjoyed having everything made the day ahead so all we had to do was heat and eat. Perfect, right?

The afternoon included some dock time just reading and relaxing and resting — something I have not done a great deal of recently.

A day like this is good for the soul. While we missed being with family, it was still a pretty perfect day. I remember all the years of Easter baskets, egg dying, new clothes and fun family meals and had to reminisce a little bit by finding the picture below. Just a few years ago but one of my favorite pictures from childhood — an Easter Sunday I am pretty sure. Hope your day was blessed as well.
