A Touch of Rios in Fort Worth

23 Comments/ 3559/ 2

Last fall I spent some time in Fort Worth, Texas and had a great time exploring the stockyards and all of the great stores in the area.  One store that I absolutely fell in love with was Rios Interiors located at 2465 N. Main St Fort Worth.  1

Chris and I don’t live life large like many Texans but I found myself loving some of the pieces of furniture that would only fit in a Texas sized house.15

13Seriously–look at the size of this bed.  It is massive and the pictures really do not do it justice.

4Gary and Carla were in the store that day and graciously permitted me to take some photographs of some of the pieces. They allowed us to take our time to explore the massive store and were available if we wanted help but were not intrusive.  Perfect combination for my shopping experience.2Art work covers the walls and home decor items pepper the showroom adding so many options for the discerning buyer, don t you think?

I love the color combinations in this piece and was very tempted.

I even found a teapot nestled on a shelf. Can you see it? Surprisingly enough it stayed in the store and did not come home with me.

3

Of course the store does all kinds of customized work and there was an area with racks of fabrics and finishing touches that customers can choose from to achieve the perfect look for their house.

8

9Maybe my favorite picture from the day was taken of a bin of tacks.  Don’t you love it?  It just caught the light perfectly.

7I found these butterfly candle holders especially wonderful and not too “Texas” that they could fit in with any decor.

6When we travel I love to find stores like this that offer customers a great shopping experience.  Even though we did not intend to furnish a home in Texas it was a lot of fun to be able walk around and see the variety of items that were available.

This picture—-I absolutely love this picture.  I could tell a million stories based on this picture.
14Thanks for joining me today as I remember a fun day in Fort Worth, Texas and a store that is definitely worth a stop if you ever find yourself in the area.  Check out their website here and their Facebook page here if you want to see more. did you see anything you would like to have in YOUR home?  Let me know in the comments section and remember Comments for a Cause.

can’t get past the fact that the teapot stayed in the store and didn’t go home with you. My brain is not wrapping around that! 😉

I was on my best behavior that day, wasn’t I? I am not sure why it did not come home with me. Mr. Diamond might have put his foot down.

There really was a lot of stuff in the store that would fit in a lot of different decors, not just Texas style, so those were the things that were appealing to me. Like the teapot!

What a cool place to shop! And like a number of other folks I LOVE the bathtub! We only have showers at our place in Cuenca, so I REALLY miss a good soak.

And listen– just so you know. This summer I’m going on two-month RV trip with my nearing-ninety Godmother and her cat Pepe le Mew. I leave for the US in a week. The RV is huge, 37-feet. My Godmother will be driving and towing an SUV the entire way. She was a Flamenco dancer during her entire professional life. I’m going to try to blog about our trip and write a book about the 64 beautiful years she and my Godfather, a Venezuelan movie star (I kid you not!), were married, until Raul died last fall one month shy of his 97th birthday.

I know you are in the process of moving, but I’m so out of the loop that I don’t know where. We will be all over the eastern half of the country, starting in Miami and then as far north as Michigan and as far east as Manhattan. I have no idea if we will be near you, but if so, I’d love to meet you.

Hope you are surviving the insanity of relocating. Sorry to have been away so long!

    Hugs from Ecuador,
    Kathy

Kathy, That sounds like another amazing story that will be unfolding before you! I can’t wait to follow along. I have been so negligent in following up on blogs and keeping in touch with so many friends lately because life has gotten busy again. The big move to NC will be happening over the next couple of months and I am hoping to be in North Carolina by late August and getting settled there. When you are tooling around in the RV just give me updates of where you are going to be when and maybe we can meet up. That would be AMAZING! I would absolutely love to see you and your godmother. Just keep in touch, okay, and let me know if you are remotely close. I can drive to meet you –that is for sure.
Safe travels and thanks for stopping by! Miss reading about all your exciting adventures.
