A Woman Obsessed

15 Comments/ 94/ 2

A woman obsessed.

That is what my husband now calls me.

A woman obsessed.

Can you believe it?

Just what does he think I am obsessed about?

Little Free Libraries.

Yep.

It’s  not enough that I now am steward of my amazing Little Free Library at the Whistlestop Market in Brevard, NC.

I now search them out when I travel.

It’s not a bad thing,  Really.  I usually have a stash of books with me so I donate to the ones I find and am thrilled to share the wealth.

When we were in Lakeside, Ohio for a week I found two sweet libraries.  One was on the official map but I never did find the other one so I suspect it might be a mobile one.

First was this cute one that was designed to look like a school house.  I left a couple of books in it and took one to read.

Then I found one that was just one street over from the cottage we were renting.  It matched the cottage it sat in front of and it was the perfect use for an old microwave cart, don’t you think?  When my niece Harper came we went and found a cute book for her.

As we were winding our way through the state of Ohio on our various adventures we stopped in Vermillion to check out the lighthouse.  (That’s an upcoming post.)  Imagine my excitement when I spied a Little Free Library in the park where the lighthouse stands.

I must admit I had to straighten up the books a bit –the Texas book was strategically placed in front of all of the other books whenI got there so I moved it so all the books could show their colors.

I may be a woman obsessed.

Did I mention the paper boxes I have my eyes on near a place that is being demolished?  PERFECT for Little Free Libraries.  I will keep you posted….

If you are going to be obsessed with something (and we all are), Little Free Libraries are not a bad thing!!

I am glad to hear you say that. I didn’t think it was a bad thing but I was kind of beginning to wonder when Chris said I was obsessed. 🙂

Fun! A literary treasure hunt. And I am sure it is interesting to see how other people have built and created the magic around their libraries.

I might get a little too excited about them but hey—it’s just books, right? Not a bad thing.

What a great idea those Little Free Libaries are. One of my friends is the librarian at a local school and also sponsor of the debate team. They put a little library in our town!

That is such a great idea for a group to do as a project, isn’t it? I love how it brings people together who may not have known each other before. Thanks for stopping by!

A little obsession about something in life is good. I prefer to call it a passion, though!

Come to Helena, MT. There are several here. And I still have a box of books for you. Just need to get it to the post office, but it keeps growing!

Oh, tell Mr. Diamond that I totally understand your obsession. After the LFL founder donated a LFL to my hometown, I became obsessed with spotting and photographing them, too. I am amazed at the many creative designs.

Your niece is a darling. So glad there was a special space for children’s books.

Guess what? I found one on our vacation, immediately thought of you, and took a photo of it. Eventually, I’ll get around to putting it on my blog. 🙂
