My Best of Show –IBS Las Vegas 2016

15 Comments/ 3567/ 2

IBSChris brought me along this year to Las Vegas to attend the IBS trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  It has the worst initials, doesn’t it?   But now when I think of IBS I think International Builder’s Show and it has a better sound to it.  Last year we attended the show before Chris took his job with Dunbarton Group and we had a great time other than having issues with our hotel room being a conference room complete with a huge conference table and chairs.

This year I didn’t spend a lot of time walking the show but I did snap a few pictures of some fun things.  I spent more time in the Kitchen and Bath show area this year and found some really fun products.  Last year I did a Best of Show post where I highlighted a few things we saw that I liked so I thought I would do the same this year.  While I did not see every single thing there were enough fun things to keep my attention.

Outdoor and indoor fireplaces are a huge feature in a lot of homes these days and they always look so inviting, don’t they?  This one featured a beautiful stacked stone look.IBS3We are going to be putting a shower in the space over the garage to finish it off into a more functional apartment area for guests so I looked at a few shower options.  Our son Aaron thinks we need a steam shower (the option on the right) but I am not convinced.  The shower display on the left had fully functioning multiple shower heads.shower Collage

Drawer pulls and knobs are always a fun way to update cabinets and we are in the process of trying to get ours all finished in the kitchen.  Unfortunately when they were installed they used a power tool and the threads are so stripped we are finding it nearly impossible to get the pulls off of the drawers.  Chris promises that that will happen when we get home from the show.  I got all the knobs taken care of and we have 2 of the pulls off but still have 7 to go. I loved this display of different options.drawer pullsCollageOf course I loved these red stoves.  Aren’t they awesome?  Totally would not work in my current home but still–a girl can dream, right?

Oh and how about that red tub?  Do you see a theme here?tub CollageThere are so many options in sinks these days that it boggles my mind.  I loved some of the bamboo options but not sure they would work in our home either.
IBS6We even found some ice cream during our walking around.  What a treat.  I missed the booth where they were making your “face in foam” on top of coffee.   Drat.

We are also trying to figure out options for redoing the front and back areas of our house where the ground can get a little bit wet.  This type of pavers looked pretty amazing.Azek Building Products CollageOf course Chris worked and the booth that they have is a nice visual for folks to be able to see what products their company has to offer.  I especially love the white board —wouldn’t that be great in a kitchen to make lists on? IBS2

So there you have my quick walk around the IBS 2016 Show in Las Vegas.  It’s a fun show and there is always something new to look at and dream about .  Trade shows are fun to go to no matter what the business and even though they are a lot of work for those who are working the booths it is a great way to show off products.  Thanks for stopping by today.
