Chickening Out on Teapot Tuesday

16 Comments/ 34/ 0

Chickens are a surprisingly popular theme for teapots.  Who would have thought?  I have several in my collection and this one is a great one, don’t you think?

Would you drink from a chicken teapot?  I don’t think I have ever even brewed a pot in this one so if the answer is yes – come on over and I will brew one up for you.

“The leaves that remain are only a very small part of the tea. The tea that goes into me is a much bigger part of the tea. It is the richest part.
We are the same; our essence has gone into our children, our friends, and the entire universe. We have to find ourselves in those directions and not in the spent tea leaves.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh, No Death, No Fear

Love the little chicks, on the lid and at the base. So cute. Chicken teapots used to be all the rage. I´ll be over to help you intiate your teapot! Thich Nhat Hanh is so wise.

We all agree that the little chicks are the best part of this teapot. 🙂

He looks antique-y. Do you remember where you got him?

I don’t think he is old and I am pretty sure he was an eBay buy that was a “lot” of teapots. I have to search my memory banks on that one. 🙂

I am not a big fan of chickens, thus this isn’t one of my favorites. But the chicks redeem this teapot for me. They’re cute.

The chicks are definitely the cutest part of this teapot. The chicken looks like it could peck you pretty hard, right?

Cute. I have one teapot, given to me as a wedding gift 28 years ago. I think it’s pigs. Not sure. When I get home I’ll have to look. It’s displayed in one of our glass fronted cabinets but I guess I haven’t looked at it in a long time. Never brewed tea in it either.

WHAT? NEVER BREWED TEA IN IT? Haha. Just kidding. How wonderful to have a wedding gift like that that has stayed with you all these years!

Cute! No chicken teapots in my collection, but I do have a close friend who has real chickens. And she gives me the most delicious brown eggs from them which of course, I have for breakfast with a cup of hot tea. 🙂
