Cosmos Teapot on Teapot Tuesday

I am a sucker for pretty teapots and I definitely have a lot that qualify as pretty in my collection.  I found an eBay listing awhile back for a daisy teapot that I could not pass up.  Daisies are my favorite flowers so I was sure that this one was going to be perfect for my collection.

When the teapot arrived it was a really busy time so I didn’t even take it out of the box for a couple of weeks.  When I did unbox it I was surprised to find it all nestled in a cute  little box tied with a bow.

The teapot is on the smallish side and when I unboxed it I was surprised at how beautifully crafted it was.

I really don’t think it looks much like a daisy but maybe more of a chrysanthemum type flower but regardless it is one of my favorite teapots in my collection now.

Just look at that butterfly lid.  It is delightful, isn’t it?

I think you can understand how I fell in love with this little darling once I unpacked it.

The effect of tea is cooling.
As a drink, it suits very well persons of self-restraint and good conduct.
When feeling hot, thirsty; depressed, suffering from headache,
eye-ache, fatigue of the four limbs, or paints in the joints,
One should drink tea only; four or five times.”

Adorable. It looks very delicate though. I would be afraid of damaging it.

That’s pretty amazing! Would that be something you’d use for tea, or would you reserve it for ornamental admiration? I agree, it doesn’t look like a daisy at all…but you’re right about it being a chrysanthemum. Maybe a dahlia. Regardless, it’s beautiful.

Nope, definitely not a daisy (also one of my favorite flowers). I’d identify this as a dahlia.

What a cute little thing! And I agree it really doesn’t look like a daisy.
