Okay I admit the title is lame but hey—I am claiming Mountain Madness due to the recent debilitating snow here at my house. Fortunately it is almost all melted but I was housebound for a week because being the “new kids on the block” we were not on anyone’s plowing list. We made it out and even helped our Florida neighbor get his car out because he was pretty clueless about how to drive out of snow. Our years in the midwest have helped us learn something.
But I digress. It is Tuesday after all and that means another teapot is showcased on It’s Just Life. It is a fun one but maybe not too practical for actual tea serving but I think this guy has some charm of his own.Just look at the expression on this creature. Pretty fun, don’t you think?
The person who can read the bottom of this teapot will win a prize. I am clueless.
The very sight of a teapot puts a smile on the face of most people. One cannot help but think of more serene and genteel times. From a whimsical child’s teapot to an elegant English Teapot, to collectible teapots that adorn some homes, they are a subtle reminder of all that is good in this world.

Leave a commentBeth Ann – cute pot! I once had some oriental dishes with similar symbols on the bottom. I photographed them and sent an email to Christie’s (or Sotheby’s, I forget) to get them to identify them because I wasn’t sure if they were valuable or not. They wrote back and told me what they meant. Typically it’s the signature of the person/company who made it & the timeframe during which they were made. Is it an old piece or relatively new?
That is great info to know! This is a new piece and definitely not one of value. I think I got it in a “lot” of teapots on Ebay that a woman was selling from her mother’s collection.
Waiting for the snow to start here soon and then whip into a blizzard.
Did you ever get the blizzard? I know Mason City got about 10 inches and it was very blowy!
A cutie for sure. Best for green tea I think. Glad you survived the storm and imprisonment! I hope you had lots of tea on hand and a pile of books.
I did have both tea and books. The perfect combo!
It reads “Be not afraid of going slowly, be afraid only of standing still.”
Haha, I have no clue, but I sound like I do, don’t I? And if you don’t know what it says, maybe I am right. So do I win a prize? 😉
