Just a Walk in the Woods

9 Comments/ 77/ 0

Father’s Day weekend has come and gone for 2020 and with the Covid-19 pandemic we adjusted what we did a little bit. We loved having Aaron with us for a long weekend and made sure that along with the work he helped us with we also had time for some fun. That included a hike by the Davidson River which is quickly becoming our favorite spot to go.

There is just something about being in nature and being able to enjoy the outdoors without crowds and worrying about social distancing. Our timing has worked out pretty well and by the time we were finishing our hike it was just starting to get busier. I like the non busy time the best.

Sometimes you find things on trails that make you wonder…

The rhododendrons are just starting to bloom in various spots and I found a few to share with you.

The perfect day for a hike and to enjoy some Father Son time.

A quick stop at Shadowbrook Farm to feed the critters and Aaron made a new friend.

Thanks for stopping by today – as always I am so grateful for my readers and for your comments that help to support our monthly Comments for a Cause. Leave me a comment and 50 cents will be donated to our recipient this month – NAMI.

Sounds absolutely lovely. So happy Aaron was able to visit and you guys were able to enjoy some time together.
I can’t wait to walk and hike… we booked a cabin for a week in Sugar Mountain and are so excited. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well and things will settle down a bit. Why do people not wear their masks?!?!
We also booked Thanksgiving already since hubby’s favorite cabin on the river was available. So two things to look forward to.

What a special time, in a special place, for you guys to be together! My favorite times often involve walking in the woods. I think if everyone had a place like this to spend time in the world would be a better place.

I’m sure that visit and time with your son made your hubby’s Father’s Day grand. We will get to see all of our kiddos and grands this weekend and I am super excited about that!
