Kindness Pandemic

18 Comments/ 104/ 0

A kindness pandemic is a good kind of pandemic to have. It has been one crazy year in 2020 but everywhere I am able to see the kindness that people are sharing with one another. Whether it is donating to a fundraiser for school supplies, shopping local and supporting small businesses or simply just being a good human being – it all counts.

I know a lot of my readers do a lot of things that go a long way in the kindness category and that makes me so happy. So many of you out there think of others in so many wonderful and unique ways and I have noticed. Don’t think I haven’t.

I have gotten a lot of really sweet and thoughtful cards and letters since the beginning of the year. Each one that comes truly blesses me. It is one thing that I continually try to do myself in an effort to lift others up during difficult and trying times.

One blogging friend recently truly blessed me with a couple of her notes – complete with adorable watercolor pictures that have become her way to cheer up others during this time of weirdness in the world. I absolutely love them and I love that Dawn from Change is Hard has developed a truly unique and special way to reach out to others during this time. Her beautiful little paintings are cheerful and magical and they are bringing much joy to the recipients.

Thanks, Dawn, for the lovely gifts and for doing your part, using your talents, sharing the love across the miles. I am truly grateful.

What kindnesses have your experienced recently? Have you been a recipient of a small kindness? Have you shared of yourself in a way you haven’t until recently with others? I would love to hear all about it in the comments so please Comment for a Cause – Transylvania Christian Ministry – Sharing House.

My neighbor, Beth Ann sharing her library. Now, I have one to give her!
I hear the library is now open. I think I need to venture into it once again!

Well, I have a new laptop. It’s a piece of garbage and may last a whole month if I don’t throw it in the lake first, but while it lasts, it *does* browse. I can read other people’s blogs again! And catch up, slowly-but-surely, with Twitter!

I’m still looking for a *serious* laptop on which I can *work*…

*Some* change is ridiculously easy so your friend might want to try to think of a fresher motto beyond the cliches about “change.” For example, if somebody walked in saying “I’ll trade you a less worn-out model of your old HP laptop for that ridiculous little Dell ‘Latitude’ with Windows 10 and fewer than 3M RAM that was obviously the very last cheapie left in the shop,” my only question about THAT “change” would be “How fast can I plug the new one in?”

Congrats on the new laptop—-glad to see you popped by the blog to see what was going on here. As you can see –more of the same. 🙂

Or: WordPress recognizes me today. It didn’t yesterday. If WordPress could clear up whatever it does that causes that, how cool would *that* “change” be?

Word Press can be fickle at times I have found. And unpredictable but on the whole I like how they operate better than other blogging platforms.

Well, that was sweet of you Beth Ann! I’m glad you like them, I’ve had fun painting them all. I’ve pretty much run out of people to send them to, so I’ve slowed down considerably, not sending one out every day any more, but still doing them when situations or events warrent a card. Thank you very much for sharing them, I was so surprised when I opened your post and recognized them! 🙂

I do love my little pictures. They have a temporary place on my hutch right now but I have big plans for them down the road. 🙂

The notecards are beautiful! I have loved sending little notes in the mail too and recently sent one to one of my group workout instructors after starting a new program. Sending notes is such a nice way to share kindness.

Dawn is just so sweet to send me not one but two and I was thrilled to get them in the mail. I know you are a big note writer and I know how much folks appreciate the gesture. There is just something about a handwritten note that makes you feel loved.
