Monday Musings

18 Comments/ 83/ 1

Another Monday, another week, another continuation of the week before. Am I the only one who feels this way? Or is it a common feeling out there? I just feel like the weeks are running into each other with not much differentiating between them. This meme seems to pretty much sum it up for me.

This past weekend we did some fun things and I will share those later on. At least the rain schedule allowed us to get out and about during storms and that always makes me happy. Maksim was not always happy when we left him but he rewarded me with some snuggle time when we came back home.

We did errands on Saturday and ended up at Biltmore. Grabbed a bite to eat at Cedric’s Tavern on the property and splurged on some pimento cheese. Any pimento cheese fans out there?

I am always looking for things to make me laugh and this towel did the trick. ( Think Montell Jordan’s This is How We Do It.)

Some nights when we have had a big lunch we just like to kick back with a little light supper. Charcuterie boards are my favorite thing to make when I have a nice selection of ingredients on hand and when we just want a nibble. Crackers, meat, cheese, fruits and olives make a nice little tray. We even had some leftover pimento cheese from our lunch out so it made the cut.

What are you looking forward to this week? I don’t have much on the agenda now that our mask drive (we successfully delivered 4000 masks and shields last week to the school district) but I am sure I will find something to do. Even if it just looking at fun animal pictures. Have a great week, my friends.

It sounds like a great weekend! Not much going on here. Some schools are re-opening. I’m grateful to be out of the game. This morning, I’m looking forward to my yoga class. Hope your day is a good one!

Our schools have reopened as well and I am just praying for all those students and teachers. It is just amazing how they have adjusted and adapted to a new routine.

Yes…. another meme I’ve seen (I’m sure you have, too) mentions that everyday seems like “Blursday” now.

Blursday is so appropriate for me today. I am not moving very quickly for some reason…

Good morning! Maybe you should try my daily room schedule? And thank goodness for coffee! What if there had been a shortage of that?!

Love a good charcuterie board and love pimento cheese. Did we have some when we ate at the Biltmore? I feel like we did.
That’s a lot of masks and happy to be able to contribute a little!

I´m sure Maksim misses you when you go out but is soooo happy when you get back. After lockdown, Dot was so used to having us around all the time, her nose was out of joint when we left her at home. But when we returned you would have thought we´d been gone for months she was so happy to see us. Your charcuterie board looks great. Something for everyone.

Yes–our pets are so used to having us home. Holly is oblivious to us during the day but loves her morning and nighttime snuggles. Maksim is more social and inquisitive and has to be checking out what is going on all of the time.

Charcuterie is great! I kind of forgot about it as a meal. Thanks for the reminder. I think I saw some pimento cheese in the fridge. Hoping it’s not petrified 😂. Have a great week my friend!

I have to clean the fridge out regularly or else I lose things to the mold monster. Ugh. I try to stay on top of things but it seems like it is a fact of life that things just get away from me at times.

Yep, the weeks are melting into one another and somehow here we are near the end of August. How did that happen? Anyway, I love the tea towel and your charcuterie board supper – yum, pimento cheese! We often do the same for our evening meal except I don’t make a nice charcuterie board like you do. My reason? This pandemic is making me lazy.

I would not say I am a ball of fire these days but i do enjoy cooking and putting together things that look nice for dinner if I can. Of course it always amazes me how long it takes to put something together and clean up afterwards and how little time it takes to enjoy it. 🙂

The meme pretty well sums it up for us too. Glad you had a good weekend. Your lunch at the Biltmore looked wonderful!!. Yes I love good homemade pimento cheese. The tray you made up looked yummy too. We had a pretty quiet weekend but did go out last night for dinner at The Texas Roundhouse. Some of the best steaks in town. Really enjoyed getting out.
