More From Maine

9 Comments/ 200/ 0

Our trip to the eastern most part of Maine proved to be a beautiful journey in nature. We always look for parks or preserves where we can walk and hike and if there is a beach it is even better. Add in a lighthouse or two or three and I am a happy camper.

It was a rainy and gloomy day but that did not stop us. We explored Quoddy Head State Park and enjoyed some great views.

.

Of course we had to check out the lighthouse that was located in the park. While it is closed to the public we were able to see it from the outside and also look inside the museum / gift shop part to read a little bit about the history.

The weather got better as the day went on, thank goodness, and we were able to do a little short hike. Rocky beaches and foggy scenery greeted us at times but it was all wonderful to be able to be out in the beauty of Maine.

.

.

Remember that semi foggy scene outside our accommodations from yesterday? When the sun came out this is what we saw.

As the sun started to set we were greeted with more beauty.

.

Another fun thing was that when we came out in the morning there was a cat on our car. It let me pet it a little bit before it jumped off to go find another sunny spot to relax. You know any place that comes with cats is a – ok with me.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope your weekend is fabulous in every way. See you back here on Monday with more It’s Just Life.

Third and final notice. I’m not typing my name into a form that claims to save it, and doesn’t, ANY MORE. If you want comments, get Disqus. I am seriously annoyed by Akismet’s latest downgrade, and I’m not playing Wordmess’s little game any more.
