Random Ramblings on a Friday in Fall

17 Comments/ 175/ 2

Sometimes it is okay to be random, right? Today is one of those days that I am deeming Random Day.

It’s been a good week but a long one in a lot of ways. There is always the post vacation lull that seems to set in and this has been the week for that.  Re-adjusting to the time zone I live in, catching up on laundry and trying to just get back in sync with life in general has been the challenge but I am getting there.

The great thing is that ability to be able to have some fun while enjoying the beautiful fall colors that are exploding in Western North Carolina.   I got to have dinner with a friend I had not seen for ages.  Catching up with my friend Amy after not seeing her in person for at least 5 years (and most likely more) was really a great thing.  I am always amazed at the ability to just pick up right where we left off in friendships no matter how long it has been.  Have you experienced that?

Wednesday I got my hair cut and colored—I had to break up with my old stylist and I am happy to say my new stylist is great.  If you are a woman I bet you can nod your head at this one.  If your hair isn’t right — nothing is right.  So I am one happy girl now with a new stylist who gets me.  Win win.

Thursday was a fun adventure with my Clown Car buddy from Las Vegas.  Now that one may need a little bit of explanation, right?  When I went to the Bloggers At Midlife Conference (you can read about that here) I met a group of 5 other ladies who became kind of a little group.  We all came from different places, write about different things and yet we clicked and became good friends.  One night we all crammed into Julie’s car and went to dinner and it was one of those Clown Car images when we all tumbled out.   There was a lot of laughter and hilarity and fun and we became known as the Clown Car Buddies.juliebac

Julie, the driver of the Clown Car, came to North Carolina on a vacation this week and I was happy that I was on her itinerary.  So I gave her the 5 hour Beth Ann’s Best of Brevard tour and we enjoyed some waterfalls, a wee bit of shopping, lunch, fall foliage viewing, shared cups of tea on my not so quiet back porch (thanks to tree trimming going on) and did I mention chocolate?  Yes, there was chocolate involved.  Julie blogs over at Word Storm Casserole.  Tell her I sent you if you stop over.

So all in all a great week and to finish it out for you my loyal readers a few pictures of just some of the fall colors that are popping  up in Western North Carolina.  Enjoy.

It is so beautiful here. Chris and I are hoping to take a drive on the Blue Ridge this weekend if we can fit it in. Along with all of the other million leaf peepers. 🙂

Oh yes, it will be crowded up there. We tried to have lunch (at 2:45!!!) at the Pisgah Inn on Wednesday and it was a 75 minute wait! Decided to take the 75 minutes and drive to the Grill instead!

Love that Geoff is now on your blog! 15 minutes of fame!

And yes, my Midge is like your Amy. I think we last saw each other in 2010 or 2011, and it never matters – still connected and still lots of fun!

Raving over your ramblings. Love Leaf Peepers! Having one of those weeks myself. If I had the time I would blog about it, but must run. Have a great weekend.

What fabulous colours! I can see how they would motivate painters. Glad you found a hairdresser you are happy with. Always a concern when you move. I have one who comes to my house, does a great job and doesn´t charge me very much at all. I keep wanting to give her more but she won´t take it. Oh and she stops in and trims my bangs for free!! I love your random ramblings as I feel like we are sharing a cup of tea and chatting. Hugs from Spain.

I love your random posts – and am delighted to be in one of them. Am safely home in Michigan now, with chilly temps and all matter of leaf colors. And yep, the chocolate is all gone!!
